Ms. Anding received her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics in 1977 and her Master’s in Nutrition from Louisiana State University in 1980. She is currently a licensed dietitian in the state of Texas, a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a Certified Diabetes Educator, and a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. Ms. Anding also holds a certificate in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Charlie Kimball is the first licensed driver with diabetes to win a race in the IZOD IndyCar Series. Kimball, who began racing go-karts at age 9, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2007 and was forced to abandon his racing program mid-season. Kimball returned to the cockpit the following year and claimed a podium finish in his first race back in the car.

Dr. Howley received the B.S. degree in physical education from Manhattan College and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Wisconsin, Madison.  He then completed a one-year post-doctoral appointment at Penn State University and was hired in 1970 as a faculty member at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK). Dr. Rankin is currently an Associate Dean at the Graduate School and a Professor in the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Tech.  She received her undergraduate training at Duke University and graduate degree from the University of California at Davis. Current research from her laboratory relates to an overarching goal to clarify the optimal nutritional strategies to reduce inflammation and related health complications in obesity and athletes.
